In normal reading, a subject, two visual systems originate from the retina, the Magnocellular system(M cells that processes global, coarse information) and the Parvocellular system(P cells that process fine details) and must be processed in the proper order, M cells first and then P cells.  In a majority of dyslexia sufferers it has been determined that these two processes are confused in processing.  In most cases, the P cell processing takes place too quickly, not allowing time for the global information from M cell pathway to be processed.  The Gen 2 Diamond 500 eyewear has one purpose; to slow the P cell processing by a few thousandths of a second, giving the M cell pathway time properly deliver their information to the brain.  With the proper M cell/P cell sequence improved or restored, the sufferer is able to view words and letters in their proper location on the page.  While improvements are made with these lenses in most dyslexia sufferers, there are visual or neurological issues that may remain.
